So how did everyone’s iPhone day go? It was wild here in Honolulu…After the intial small batch of phones were doled out to the pre-orderers and a few who took their chances in the non-reservation line…two enormous lines remained. These people were waiting for a rumored FedEX shipment of more phones which were not even guaranteed to arrive that day! As of now, past midnight of the launch, people are still waiting until tomorrow!
As for myself, I got my phone by FedEx on the 23rd, however I was plagued with activation problems. After some SIM errors and a trip to AT&T, my phone finally went online 18 hours after I opened it…pretty rough, but at least I got one.
The screen is truly gorgeous and the stand out feature IMO. It’s hard to look at the 3GS screen by comparison, it looks so incredibly last-gen. Even my Macbook Air screen lacks the crispness of the iPhone 4. And yes, it even puts the iPad screen to shame. Hopefully they’ll employ the same screen tech on the next iteration of iPad, because it’s an absolute pleasure to look at.
