Ohhh now we’re talkin! I’m a sucker for bags of this exact size, so this Fujiya bag is ticklin’ my fancy. I don’t like the length and width of my bag to exceed the size of my 11 inch Macbook Air or iPad byt that much – and I want exactly this much depth so I can pack a snack or water..so this is my perfect carry-on bag. Enough room for my computer, iPad, and essentials. That’s IT, no other bulk. This one is particularly cool done up in vegan leather mixed with tweed, though if I order one I’ll be going for the sleeker and less grandpas chair looking all black version.
The lining is made from recycled bottles and the whole thing is hippy crunchy and wonderfully earth friendly. Sorry in advance Bluelounge! Being the irresponsible site owner I am, I’m procrastinated and now it’s Valentine’s Eve and I have some important romantic issues that need attention! Therefore the quality of this post about your truly cool bags is going to suffer as I crank this out at lightspeed without too many details.
Basically there’s alot to read about the new Bonobo series from Bluelounge, the aspect that visually strikes me most though is the hardware. The carefully crafted aluminum parts are nothing short of gorgeous and you can tell they’re serious when they say they’re obsessive about design. The bag itself is constructed from recycled PET which I assume is not your dead cat but some such sort of plastic bottle or something.
See, someone who had more time would look things like that up in effort to not appear too dumb, not this dude!

iBackflip Studios has another brilliantly designed iPad bag up for pre-order, dubbed the Somersault, and it’s looking pretty awesome. The one-strap backpack cross body style is a favorite of mine that seems to be perenially rare. I used to have a killer Abercrombie and Fitch backpack about 10 years ago with the same strap style that I ended up selling on eBay for double it’s retail value simply because it was such a damn cool one-strap design.
The Somersault is exactly the type of backpack I like, and it’s smartly optimized not only for your iPad, but iPhone as well. The strap features a nicely placed iPhone pocket at the base making it easily accessible, not to mention since it’s just one strap it easily spins around the body allowing for super quick iPad access as well. Just spin the pack to your front and unzip. It opens like a clamshell right to your iPad screen and works with magnets to activate your iPad’s instant on mode – you’re good to go.

Oak, Ash, Teak, Cherry,..Zebrawood? F3 has virtually every tree in the forest available as a skin like case for your iPad in it’s F3 Folio line. It’s described on the site as a “wood veneer” which would imply it’s probably a thin layer of wood atop the case to add the look. Tempting as it may be, they implore you NOT to use it as a cutting board. Agh, oh well, I guess I’ll just use the iPad screen as a cutting board like I always do. It’s just so common for people to want to take thier $500+ device and cut food on it ya know? Everyone I know does it. Glad they put that warning.
It’s a great looking case in it’s own way, albeit a bit bulky. It’s definitely not for every style or lifestyle, but the F3 case is a gorgeous alternative to the overl techy looks out there. I can easily see an iPad sitting in this case on a coffee table by a roaring fire in snowy mountain town with some kind of wolf app loaded up.

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen a true blue entry into the premium iPad bag space, so it was nice to come across this gorgeous trilogy of bags from apparent newcomer Cradleslate! For all I know, they may have been around for years but in the 2 years of doing this site, they’re new to me! These utterly gorgeous and 100% professional briefcase style bags come in black, cowboy brown, and virgin white just waiting to be defiled by your iPad. As you can see it’s sort of a 2 in 1, as the briefcase can act as a standalone back because the dedicated leather and padded iPad sleeve is removable. So if you’re travelling light just grab the sleeve and go, and if you need a bit more space, pop it back in the bag and go!

This powerhouse from Watershed isn’t the first waterproof iPad bag we’ve seen but it might be the highest quality one yet. This thick rubber bag is absolutely 100% waterproof up to depths of 300 feet, for all those scuba sessions when you just have to check your email. Hey, that’s an interesting point…does 3G or WiFi even work under water!? I certainly won’t be the guinea pig.
OK, so you don’t necessarily need an ocean to appreciate the toughness here, this bag is a perfect companion for a potentially wet camping trip or hike and will probably serve you well whether you decide to put an iPad in it or not.

Rimowa is a name I didn’t even know I already knew! Though the name didn’t ring a bell with me at first, after seeing the logo I realized I’ve lived down the street from the Waikiki Rimowa for 5 years now, jogging past it everyday! Who knew eh? Well now I have a reason to step inside, because I’d love to get a closer look at this new beauty of an iPad case they’ve just released. It’s totally inspired by their iconic hardside luggage that rides the hinges between modern and futuristic. Characterisitally tough, this case is held to the same design standard as the luggage and will certainly protect your iPad with it’s life.
I’m not sure what other colors it comes in, but one would have to assume there’s an aluminum version. At $250 it’s not cheap, but you get what you pay for, stylish rugged quality. You can pick this up in any Rimowa boutique, starting soon!

iBaggs has released a second version of it’s awesome Traveler bag, which to no ones surprise is called the Traveler II! This thin and simplified sling is a minimalists dream and really wins big in the looks department. Super ultra slim, this touch-thru shoulder sling bag keeps it classy and bulk free, especially in the black color. Detach the nicely padded shoulder strap and you’ve got a nice sleeve you can slide into a larger bag for..ahem…traveling.
