Vaja has definitely appeared in these pages more than once over the years and for good reason, they never fail to produce gorgeousness! This very professional looking Leather Agenda wants to get under that arm and into the office ASAP. One thing I hate about leather sleeves is when the iPad is held in by some loose frame/ border of leather..it just looks shoddy…Well Vaja knows that and instead they’ve got a molded polyurethane backframe that the iPad securely snaps into, leaving the leather to just the outer. VERY nice.
Vaja knows you want your own style, so you are totally not married to the typical brown or black options. These guys let you customize the outer leather and inner accent color with plenty of options to choose from! You’ll pay $220 for the priviledge of these awesome case, but dig deep because it’s sleek and worth it.

Here it is as promised! This stunning piece of style launched back in late 2011 and how it didn’t end up on my radar until now is a mystery to me..and apparently I’m way late to the party because Coach.com and every single Coach retail store NATIONWIDE are sold out of this model in all colors. A few weeks ago I stopped by the newly opened Coach Men in Honolulu and tried on the black one…little did I know at the time I was trying on one of the last available ones in the country. I loved it and should have bought it, but all in all the black wasn’t for me and I decided to hold out for the Grey or Walnut (pictured)..Well folks if you want this bag, which is perfectly suited to carrying your iPad, by the way, in it’s own dedicated sleeve, you’d better get to your nearest Coach and get your name on a list like I did, because a representive told me they’re getting around 300 more in on or around June 23rd…a little over a month away. 300 doesn’t sound like that many considering all the rabid fans of this bag out there, so lets hope those numbers are a little off.

It’s not often you find a backpack oozing with this much personality, truly modern, and truly as luxury as the iPad itself. Through my secret methods and connections, I’ve been able to secure a grey one that I’ll receive next week, so I’ll definitely post a full review with pics.

Sold out in Japan, getting backordered to the moon everywhere else, I set out to find one of these here in Honolulu today and am happy to say I got some hands on with one. The Thompson sling pack is sold out for good reason, it’s DAMN SLICK!!! If you’ve been following the site as of late you’d see that I love slings, especially when it comes to carrying around my iPad. This pack puts function aside and goes full force toward style, knocking it out of the park. This MANLY modern sling will attract every eyeball in the vicinity squarely to your back. Not too big, not too wussy, this bag is the perfect balanced city bag, and it’s dying to carry your iPad.
Actually, this Thompson Sling Pack is one of two Thompson sling packs Coach has available, and the one better suited for carrying an iPad is actually the Convertible Thompson Sling Pack which I’ll cover later in the week…but this one was too gorgeous not to post.
With 6 colors to choose from, you will find one that fits your vibe..and with six colors you’d think there’d be a dud in the bunch but the fact is they’re all so appealing the only color I’ve ruled out I don’t want is the Green! Seriously, take a look and tell me I’m wrong.
I got to try them both on today, including the Black Convertible Thompson which is the last one in Hawaii..I would have bought it but I really want the back ordered Brown which isn’t expected til June. All colors of the other sling were in stock but probably not for long, they’re MIA all over the country. If you want one cross your fingers and head out to Coach.

After reviewing the awesome Somersault sling bag this week I was on the lookout for any other slings across the web that might give it a run for it’s money. Well, I found a pretty solid looking sling with the Urban Photo bag by Lowepro, but the Somersault is far more innovative.
This basic sling is primarily designed for toting around your camera, but that main compartment can certainly be used for whatever you’d like as it’s well padded and ready for anything. The reason the bag made it onto this site is that there is in fact a dedicated iPad compartment in there, which is great cuz you really don’t want your gear scratching anything right? Right. The bag is pretty big so this might be up your alley for those of us who don’t travel light. Pretty cool bag, see more over at Lowepro.

I previewed the Somersault by iBackflip a month or so ago because it was definitely a unique and intelligent approach to what an iPad bag can be, and now that I’ve been fortunate enough to run around with one for a couple days, let me give you the low down!
Tough and well constructed, the thick n’ beefy nylon on the Somersault is noticible at first touch and will certainly live up to it’s claims of being water resistant and weatherproof. The Somersault‘s signature feature is it’s unzip and fold out access to your iPad while still wearing the bag – and it’s awesome. Though you wear it on your back, it’s not a backpack – it’s a sling, and there’s a huge difference between the two. With a one strap style going crossbody, the sling form allows you to easily swivel the bag around the body while wearing it for fast access, and in the case of the Somersault, fast iPad access. Lets face it, traditional 2 strap backpacks are just a little bit too middle school for most of us. The very cool sling look, for some reason, is pretty tough to find nice modern looking bags in, so I was thrilled when I saw this one. The last time I had a nice crossbody sling like this was from A&F back in 2001.

This smart design keeps your iPad hands free secure in front of you at a perfect desk like angle giving you quick iPad access without removing the bag from your body or iPad from the bag. Everything close to your person and secured. As you can imagine, there’s plenty of instances where this is going to come in very handy – a subway or any public transit comes to mind. You may want to use your iPad but not want it out in the open where it can be grabbed at, spilled on, or whatever else. Even on a walk or hike, swivel the bag and open up for your Maps or whatever you need. Embedded magnets give you a smart cover like instant on when you open the iPad compartment and stiff foam padded walls make sure it’s safe during all transport with no hardware inside that might scratch the screen.

Real road warriors will appreciate that this one is TSA approved as well, so no need to remove the iPad from the bag during inspection, you’re good to go.

While the Somersault is primarily an iPad bag and shines at being just that, it’s actually a very capable laptop bag. The iPad zipped compartment is one thing, in the middle of the bag seperate and secure from a larger flat compartment that is flat against your back. That compartment is easily big enough for my 13″ MacBook Air and would hold a Pro too, albeit it a little tighter. That compartment turns this from a cool iPad bag into a completely NECESSARY travel bag. This will likely become my go-to bag. I exclusively travel with an iPad and MacBook Air, and almost no bags out there offer a bag that comfortably fits the two together in seperate equally padded uncompromised zipped areas. You’re getting a lot of function in the Somersault in a relatively svelte pack too.

I hate bulk and there’s no bulk here. Every inch of this bag is put to good use, including zips and tabs on the sling strap, key/utility hooks at the top, and two other zipped flat pockets on the front panel. The front zip opens to reveal a hole cut out for the iPad camera. It’s nice to have for sure but it’s unlikely you’ll use your camera much anyway, and folding the flap out of the way of the lens isn’t ideal, but if you must take a pic while your iPad is in the bag, you can.

All in all, the Somersault is an original idea perfectly implemented. It combines everything you’d want in a standard iPad sling with it’s unique functionality as a centerpiece. High and style, ease of use, and built to last you many travels, you’re going to love the Somersault.

STM is a name we’ve seen time and again across this site and with good reason, they seem to perpetually pump out phenomenal looking and functional iPad bags. The Alley is right in line with thier previous offerings, meaning more of the same great durability, look, and pocket design that makes toting your iPad around a downright pleasure. The Alley is a bit more spacious than the other models and will easily accomodate a MacBook Air as well as an iPad – or easily both together. A padded compartment inside seperates your goodies from your junk and I’m loving the iPhone pocket that exists on the shoulder strap- pretty handy. Inside is pockets galore so organize away anything from cables and adapters to documents and CDs- if you’re still using those things.

I was lucky enough to receive a review unit of an iPEVO Typi Bluetooth keyboard case for iPad and I spent last weekend carrying it around town and using it every which way I could think of, and overall I’m quite impressed.
Let’s start with looks. Polished and professional looking the Typi definitely classes up your iPad and makes it look like the workhorse it can be rather than a bedtime entertainment device most of us use it as. Handcrafted felt comprises the outer shell with a brown leather strap that smartly doubles as both a closure and multi-angled prop up. You’ll find more leather on the inside, a smooth black padded area below the keyboard for comfortable typing and a leather frame in which to slide the iPad into. That part is particularly well done as the iPad does fit absolutely perfectly, it’s snug and secure with no wobble. Another piece of leather flaps over the top of the iPad to keep it from falling out the top, which is a low tech solution for sure but surprisingly effective even rocking a tiny die-cut hole in the leather for the iPad microphone.
The bluetooth keyboard is a beauty and I love how it affixes to the cover with a silent magnet rather than noisy velcro or snaps. Just lift and remove it you want it out and just use the Typi as a regular iPad cover..and you just might.

It’s liberating to have the freedom of an unattached keyboard on your lap with perhaps your iPad propped on your desk or any other angle. In fact I’m writing this now with the iPad off to my right on the desk, Typi keyboard on my lap, with head turned left toward the TV! The fact that it’s removable turned out to be a nice touch I didn’t even think I’d care about, but turned out adoring.
As a Bluetooth keyboard, it’s just as easy to set up as you’d expect. Just hold the button to make it discoverable and enter a 4 digit code at the prompt, and BAM you’re connected. I used it for at least 5 hours over the weekend and didn’t come close to wearing out the battery as far as I can tell, but when it does run out no need to buy batteries, this charges up via a standard mini USB port. Nice!
I’m so impressed with the bluetooth keyboard I would recommend buying the Typi just for that even if you prefer your current case or don’t need the case part..Why? Because it’s brilliant design makes it naturally portable along side an iPad. It’s all smooth leather, not hard plastic or aluminum that can scratch or be clumsy to fit in a bag. And ultra lightweight.

It’s flat, super light, and roughly the same size as an iPad. If you have an iPad bag you currently love you can easily slide this next to it and be on your way, and be ready for any heavy typing duties that may arise. Sure, Apple’s bluetooth keyboard is awesome looking, but awkward to fit in a small bag to be sure.
Additionally, the Typi has more features custom designed for the iPad than any other keyboard out there such as dedicated quick launch buttons along the top row for Home, Search, Copy, Paste, Photo Gallery, Screenshot – as well as all audio and video controls and an instant lock key. The copy and paste proved to be very useful but you’ll definitely get your use out of the Home key. It’s much more natural to hit that key than be lifting your hand to touch the screen whenever changing apps. Hit Home twice and naturally it will bring up your currently running Apps.
The meat and potatoes of the Typi is obviously the keyboard, but let’s go back to that leather strap I was telling you about!

It’s simple and works like this..there’s 3 snap closures along the strap, each one puts the iPad at a different viewing angle suited for typing, movie watching, or whatever that third angle is best for. What I really love is that hidden in the strap is another magnet for when the Typi case is closed and not propped, very nice touch. They do a great job on the strap of marrying design and function, you’ll certainly get some interested eyes turning your way when you open the Typi up in your Starbucks.
Though few of us actually take photos with the iPad, the camera hole is certainly there and ready if you’re so inclined, and the iPad, of course, can be charged while remaining in the case, a no brainer.
Overall I absolutely love the Typi and if I was forced to find a gripe it’s that the felt attracted some dust bunnies from my bag, but I supposed that’s my fault for having a dusty bag! Anyone like me who spends a lot of time creating content or generally working and wants to give their iPad a chance at stealing these tasks away from a laptop, then you need to give the Typi a shot. It’s a satisfying experience to jump from touch screen to key input on the same device, and inifintely more productive. Replying to emails on the go became a breeze, and that alone is well worth the Typi.

Where’s this beauty from Ful been hiding?? I stumbled across this in a random Amazon search and turns out it’s a really impressive ideally sized iPad Bag! Naturally this will fit any model, but you know you’re dying to get your iPad 3 in this baby. Genius design is the trump card here pushing this one from above average into fantastic, the dual outer zippered pockets feature one meant for the iPad itself (well padded, no metal hardward to scratch your baby) and one similarly flat pocket perfect for your other stuff or a second iPad. I’m a big fan of bags this size, it makes me want to pack it full of snacks, a water, iPhone, and cords and use it as my additional carry on accessory for short trips. I love the top handle carry option too since a lot of times I don’t want or can’t have something swinging from my shoulder. All in all a stupendous bag fitting most any lifestyle.
